Although I am shouting "happy halloween", I am not going trick-or-treating or handing out bags of candies. it's just another boring night. however, i did learn something "horrible" about this holiday when i told my fellow worker that i probably had missed a lot not celebrating it - some psychotics give away poisonous candies to the kids, some of whom died as a result. parents panic for good reasons and they decide that it'd be better if they have a trick-or-treating party in the church or some public places, such as a shopping mall. kids still get to wear costumes and have candies; adults don't need to worry as much. isn't it convenient?

but what's the fun of it anyway? i would imagine that it'd be much more adventurous if i could knock at each door in the neighborhood with a posse of buddies. oh - it's probably the ADVENTURE that the adults don't like. ah...

and halloween is gaining popularity across the spectrum of age. It's said that more and more adults join the kids in celebration. well, let me take a wild guess: they just want to do something different from their routine. how would it feel?dressed up like...say a skeleton, or a demon, or a witch... parading on the street without being laughed at or even arrested? more importantly, it's a night where your imagination could fly up high. what are we missing in everyday life? imagination! for what reason? because we want to play safe, always. conformity is good; adventure is discouraged. but we need outlets for our very own ingenuity. that's what halloween is for.
